Big Deer is part of a large hunting panel at Fremont Indian State Park in Western Utah. The panel includes other sizeable deer and bighorn sheep Petroglyphs. It is thought to be a source of hunting magic, or possibly a 'trophy gallery', where hunters bragged about their most impressive kills. Big Deer is identified as such by his large, vertical, branching antlers.
